LM9001 Waterproofing Membrane

MODIFIED ASPHALT SELF-ADHESIVE WATERPROOFING MEMBRANE

LM9001 is a non-exposed, self-adhesive waterproof membrane developed with excellent waterproofing properties and can be applied in many places.

LM9001 is the combination of cross laminated high density polyethylene film and self-adhesive rubber asphalt compound with high elasticity and good adhesion properties. It is supplied in rolls and is unrolled rubber asphalt compound side down on to structural concrete slabs. It is supplied in rolls with protective release paper to keep the membranes’ adhesive surface unharmed until they are applied and allows easy handling during transportation and installation.

a. Substrate preparation:

  • The concrete surface must be clean, solid, and free from dirt and sharp objects.
  • Any adhesion reduction factors such as oil, loose materials, bitumen, grease, plaster, etc. must be removed.
  • Concrete substrate must be dry. Standing water must be cleaned prior to the application of bitumen primer.
  • Places with edges or corners, wall footing must be beveled or rounded with mortar or concrete.
  • All defects on the concrete surface must be treated with specialized mortar.
  • Concrete surface shall not have cracks or gaps ≥ 10 mm. Structural cracks must be repaired before applying waterproofing membranes.

b. Application method:

  • LM9001 waterproofing membrane is applied with various bitumen primer types
  • Stir the bitumen primer well by low speed mixer for 2 – 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture
  • Make sure concrete surface is dry before the application of bitumen primer.
  • Use roller or brush to apply bitumen primer on concrete surface. Consumption shall be based on the primer and surface condition of concrete, the popular quantity is around 0.2 ~ 0.4 kg/m2
  • Apply LM9001 membrane within 48 hours after the application of bitumen primer. In case the 48-hour limit is exceeded, bitumen primer layer must be applied again.
  • In the case of raining within 6 hours after the completion of bitumen primer layer, the application of bitumen primer must be done again.
  • Remove the protecting film layer of LM9001 and place the membrane on the surface of bitumen primer material when it has become non-sticky to the touch.
  • Use steel roller to adhere LM9001 to the concrete surface – by rolling the whole membrane firmly.
  • LM9001 membranes are joined together by overlapping joints, overlapping width is at least 80mm. Use roller to firmly seal the membranes together.
  • The finishing layer should be done on top of the membranes within 10 – 15 days after the application of waterproofing layer. The delay can later affect the duration of the membranes.
  • This product is safe for handling, storing and application.
  • Keep product away from any heat sources.
  • This is a non-toxic and environmental-friendly product.
  • Users shall refer to the most recent Technical Data Sheet for physical, ecological, toxicological, and other safety-related information.
  • Indoor: Temperature must be under 35°C in well-ventilated place. Avoid direct sunlight, rain.
  • Outdoor:
    – To protect the product from rain, snow, wind and
    sunlight, the cover must be used.
    – If the temperature is over 35°C , store the products
    inside of the building is highly recommended.
  • Rolls must be stored in original packages, in vertical
    position.
  • CProtect the products from damage when it is moved
  • Do not drop or throw the product
  • After applying the product, surface must be
    protected from damage. Foam or geotextile protection layers are recommended outside waterproofing membrane
  • Waterproofing membrane must be protected from mechanical damage
  • All technical datasheets are based on laboratory test. Actual measured data may slightly differ from specification.
